Solana Labs co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko proposed a new data availability (DA) solution to improve persistent fragmentation and lack of interoperability across blockchain networks. In a May 12 post on X, Yakovenko proposed a “meta blockchain” to aggregate and order data posted across multiple layer-1 chains, including Ethereum, Celestia and Solana. “This would actually allow the meta chain to use the cheapest currently available DA offer,” Yakovenko said. Data availability layers are third-party solutions ensuring that blockchains have the necessary data to validate transactions. Source: Anatoly Yakovenko Blockchain interoperability is one…

How a 7,000 TPS blockchain is shaping the future of regulated finance
A new report by Cointelegraph Research explores Coreum’s role in institutional blockchain adoption. It analyzes the project’s technical architecture, compliance framework and its potential impact on regulated asset tokenization. The report presents insights into transaction efficiency, security mechanisms and crosschain interoperability. It also evaluates how Coreum fits into the evolving financial landscape. Blockchain evolution and institutional requirements The adoption of blockchain technology by financial institutions has been increasing in lockstep, with the value locked in tokenized real-world assets (RWA). The latter grew by 85% in 2024. Our report examines how…

Read MoreBlockchain adoption continues unabated — Bloomberg analyst
Should the current rate of adoption continue, blockchain technology could have 100 million daily users by 2028, according to projections by Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Jamie Coutts. On X (formerly Twitter), Coutts pointed out that blockchain adoption has been “unabated” throughout bull and bear markets over the past years. “Not having exposure to one of the largest structural trends of the next decade could be costly,” said the analyst. Daily active addresses exceed 5 million in the third quarter of 2023, up 14% from 2022, according to Coutts, while quarter-on-quarter growth…
Read MoreBitcoin Blockchain Is Fighting Fraud In Guatemala’s Presidential Elections
Bitcoin is helping secure the truthfulness of Guatemala’s election results. Thanks to OpenTimestamps, a tool created by bitcoin developer Peter Todd a few years ago, Guatemalan tech startup Simple Proof is able to safeguard key documents about the country’s presidential elections from fraud and tampering. Todd’s tool, which leverages hash functions and the bitcoin blockchain, is able to timestamp pieces of information and make it easier to spot attempts at fraud and manipulation. The idea of timestamping documents is fairly old. Individuals and societies have relied on this technique for…
Read MoreHow can the synergy of AI and blockchain disrupt the music industry?
The synergy of AI and blockchain can revolutionize the music industry by enhancing artists’ creative capabilities while preserving transparency and fair revenue distribution among creators. AI is increasingly being used as a tool for creating new songs or imitating existing music content. That is why distinguishing human-generated music from AI-generated content is becoming increasingly difficult. Moreover, AI content is often trained on pre-existing content mostly without its original creators’ knowledge or consent, creating a number of ethical and legal issues, for which there are no clear-cut solutions currently given the rapid…
Read MoreWhy the choice of the blockchain matters for NFT collections
One of the fundamentals of launching an NFT collection is choosing where you’ll mint it to reach the moon. If everyone is choosing the Ethereum and Solana blockchain to mint their collection, does it mean it’s good for your collection too? Sometimes, less saturated blockchains like Ripple, Tezos and Polygon can turn out to be a blue ocean for your collections. I’ve sold a client’s collection on Ripple. There are many other examples of brands that made their grand foray into less saturated chains. For example, McLaren did two successful…

Shiba Inu launched the Shibarium mainnet, an Ethereum layer-2 scaling solution, on Aug. 16 after months of testing that saw millions of users participate and 21 million wallets created. Shibarium is built on a new consensus mechanism called proof-of-participation (PoP), which works by selecting validators in proportion to their quantity of holdings in the associated cryptocurrency. This is done to avoid the computational cost of proof-of-work schemes. The new L2 blockchain solution is designed to interact with the primary Ethereum layer-1 blockchain, providing a more scalable and cost-effective transaction platform.…
